Copper Baths

Our Freestanding Copper Bath Collection

Beautifully designed and hand-finished in England, a Catchpole & Rye copper bath will transform your bathroom. Our collection of freestanding copper bathtubs are available in a variety of finishes, with the option to customise your copper bath with a dedicated plaque which is positioned on the plinth of the bathtub.

Available in three sizes with five signature external finishes, the Copper Bateau has the versatility to suit any bathroom style from traditional to modern. Our copper baths are available in standard lengths of 1500mm,1700mm and 2000mm, and we can manufacture bespoke sizes to suit your individual requirements. Where possible a visit to one of our Showrooms is advised so you can check which model is most suitable for your particular application. All our copper baths are made to order from high gauge copper and finished to the highest standards in our Workshops in Kent.

Polished Copper Bath Exterior
The reflective qualities of this striking finish are perfect for bringing a room to life. It is also our most popular copper finish due to its versatility across a range of interior styles.

Brushed Copper Bath Exterior
Matt in appearance, this variation is a subtle way to introduce copper tones to a room and also provides a fantastic contrast when paired with a polished copper or nickel interior.

Antique Copper Bath Exterior
Presenting as an aged matt effect, this bold finish introduces darker tones than our brushed copper. It’s perfect for those moodier settings and industrial interiors.

Weathered Copper Bath Exterior
A beautifully organic finish, our weathered copper mimics the natural aging process of copper and lends itself to a more rustic setting. Pairing this with a nickel interior really brings the finish to life.

Verdigris on Copper Bath Exterior
Arguably our most distinctive finish, Verdigris’s blue and green hues are the result of the natural oxidation of Copper. If you’re looking for something with wow-factor this finish provides just that.

All our finishes are lacquered as standard, but if you want a living finish that will naturally patina over time we can do this on request. You can also choose to paint the exterior of our Bateau Baths in a colour of your choice to complement either a polished copper or enamel interior. If you wish to see your copper bath going through our production facility why not arrange an appointment to visit our Workshops in rural Kent. Here you can see firsthand the craftsmanship and attention to detail required to produce your beautiful copper bath.

FAQs

Why should I choose a copper bath?

Copper is a traditional material that has been used in the manufacture of baths for hundreds of years so makes it particularly suitable for period settings.

What weight is a copper bath?

Our copper baths generally weigh around 50 kgs thats 110 lbs. And can easily be moved by two people.

Is a copper bath easy to maintain?

It really depends on how your bath is finished in the first instance. A copper bath that has been left in raw, untreated copper will oxidise very quickly and gradually assume a leathery brown colour. Generally we seal the copper with a very durable lacquer so it maintains its highly reflective finish.

How is the waste connected to a copper bath?

All our copper baths have an integral plinth that is 150mm (6”) high. This allows for the fitting of the waste and overflow pipes plus some room for a trap. If required we can produce an exit hole in the rear of the plinth so the waste can run overground.

How does the copper bath stay in position?

We recommend applying a thin bead of clear silicone or similar sealant to the base of the copper bath to secure it in position. And to prevent any water egress under the bath.
