It takes a rare and time-honoured set of skills, passed down through generations, to cast each of our baths right here in Kent. This deep-rooted craftsmanship is at the core of everything we do, allowing us to create truly exceptional pieces with authenticity, precision, and pride.

The process begins with raw iron, which is carefully heated to an intense 1,100°C until it reaches a molten state. This liquid metal is then expertly poured into hand-crafted sand moulds, which form the unique shape of each bath. Once the iron has cooled and solidified, the moulds are “struck” a traditional term used to describe the moment when the outer sand shell is broken away, revealing the raw, newly cast bath within.

What follows is a meticulous sequence of finishing techniques. The bath undergoes blasting to smooth the surface and remove any remaining sand or residue. It is then finished with a skilled process involving the careful removal of seams and imperfections left by the casting, ensuring a clean, flawless surface. Only once these steps are completed is the bath ready to move on to the next phase: the enamelling process, where beauty meets durability.
